1	pt	Grated hard bar soap or soap ends or soap flakes
1	ga	Water

: Place bar soap or flakes in a pot. (rub salad oil on the grater before using, for easy cleaning.) Add water and stir to mix. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it boils, stirring occasionally until the soap dissolves. Lower heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove pot from the heat and let the liquid partially cool. Pour this into a clean container and cover tightly. To wash dishes, pour about 1 teaspoonfull of liquid into a dishpan of hot water.

Caution: Do not use in an automatic dishwasher
