1/2 | lb | Ground round (85% lean) |
1 | | Small onion; chopped |
1 | tb | Melted butter or olive oil |
2 | cn | (10 oz.) pizza sauce |
1 | tb | Cornstarch |
2 | ts | Dried oregano |
1/2 | ts | Garlic powder |
2 1/2 | c | Shredded cheddar cheese; (about 10 ozs) |
1 | c | Shredded mozzarella cheese -- (about 4 ozs) |
1. In a large frying pan, cook ground beef and onion in butter over medium
heat, stirring to break up lumps of meat, until beef is browned and onion
is softened, 5 to 7 minutes. 2. In a medium bowl, combine pizza sauce,
cornstarch, oregano, and garlic powder. Stir until well mixed. Add to
ground beef mixture in pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture
thickens and bubbles, 5 to 7 minutes. 3. Reduce heat to low and add cheese,
a third at a time, stirring well after each addition. Transfer to a chafing
