1 | qt | Tomato juice |
29 | oz | Can tomato puree |
15 | oz | Can red beans, drained |
1 | md | Onion, chopped |
1/2 | c | Diced celery |
1/4 | c | Diced green bell pepper |
1/4 | c | Chili powder |
2 | ts | Cumin |
1 1/2 | ts | Garlic powder |
1 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | ts | Black pepper |
1/2 | ts | Oregano |
1/2 | ts | Sugar |
1/8 | ts | Cayenne pepper, or more to taste |
Brown beef in large skillet; drain. In 6-quart pot, combine beef, juice,
puree, beans, onion, celery, bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, garlic
powder, salt, pepper, oregano, sugar and cayenne; cover pot. Simmer 1 1/2
hours, stirring every 15 minutes. Makes 16 (9-ounce) servings. Source:
