Title: Surprise Antichili*

Yield: 4 Servings
1 | tb | Olive oil |
1 | lb | Lean ground beef |
1 1/2 | c | Chopped onions |
2 | Cloves garlic, crushed | |
1 | cn | (28-oz) crushed tomatoes |
1 | cn | (16-oz) Silver Floss Sauerkraut, drained and rinsed |
1 | cn | (15-oz) pinto beans |
1 | cn | (14 1/2-oz) low-sodium beef broth |
4 | tb | Chili powder |
1/4 | ts | Pepper |
Heat oil in 3-quart saucepan. Browm meat, onions and garlic. Drain. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, partially covered for 25 to 30 minutes.
Serves 4 to 6.
*Original title is "Surprise chili", but out of deference to certain chili fanatics in the Fidonet COOKING echo, the name has been changed to protect the lowly pinto.
