12 | Ears fresh white corn | |
1/4 | c | Butter or margarine |
2 | tb | Bacon drippings |
3/4 | c | Water |
1 | ts | Salt |
1/4 | ts | Pepper |
Remove husks and silks from corn. Cut corn from cobs, scraping cobs to remove all milk. Heat butter and bacon drippings in a skillet until hot; add corn, water, salt, and pepper. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 to 12 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed, stirring frequently.
