Title: Raisin Kidney Beans

1 | c | Raisins |
1/2 | c | Diced bacon |
1/2 | c | Chopped onions |
2 | c | Canned vegetable soup |
2 | c | Canned red kidney beans |
1/2 | c | Liquid from beans |
Tabasco sauce | ||

Run water over the raisins and wash. Now drain and set aside. Fry the bacon until it's crisp; remove bacon and leave the pan on the stove. Add onion; fry onion until it's light brown in color. Now replace the bacon and raisins in the pan; fry until the raisins are plump. Then add the condensed soup and liquid from the beans to the raisin mixture; bring to a boil, and cook for two minutes. Now add the beans and Tabasco sauce. Season to taste. Mix well. Pour into a baking dish and bake at 375F. for 40 minutes.
NOTE: It was Christmas, 1932. A lot of people were hungry for inexpensive meals that tasted good. This was one answer to their prayers.
