| 1/4 | ts | Ground allspice |
| 1 | ts | Baking soda |

| 1/3 | c | Shortening |
| 1/3 | c | Water |
| 1 | c | Applesauce |
| 2/3 | c | Raisins |
Beat two minutes. Add 1 large egg and beat two minutes. Bake 350F. for 50-55 minutes.
