Title: Horseradish Sauce - Sl 9/85

Yield: 2 Cups
1/4 | c | Butter or margarine |
1/4 | c | All-purpose flour |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
1/8 | ts | Pepper |
1 | ds | Red pepper |
2 | c | Milk |
3 | tb | To 4 tb prepared horseradish |
1 | tb | Lemon juice |
Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat; add flour, salt, and both peppers, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Stir in horseradish and lemon juice; cook until sauce is thoroughly heated. Serve hot with corned beef or roast beef. Yield: 2 cups.
