8 | | Medium leeks |
3 | tb | Butter |
3 | tb | All-purpose flour |
1/2 | ts | Dry mustard |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1 | c | Milk |
1 | c | Shredded Cheddar cheese |
1 | c | Fresh bread crumbs |
1. Cook leeks; place in broilersafe 9" x 9" baking pan. Preheat broiler
if manufacturer directs. 2. In 1-quart saucepan over low heat, melt butter,
stir in flour, mustard and salt till smooth. Gradually stir in milk; cook,
stirring, until thickened; stir in cheese till melted; pour mixture over
leeks. 3. Sprinkle with crumbs. Broil to brown crumbs.
