Title: Braised Celery/swiss Cheese

1 1/2 | c | Boiling water |
pn | Ground red pepper | |
4 | c | Celery cut in 2 x 1/4 inch strips or thinly sliced |
3 | sl | Swiss cheese cut in halves diagonally |
2 | tb | Sliced almonds |
Preheat the broiler.
In a large skillet bring 1 1/2 cups of water and the ground red pepper to a boil. Add the celery. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, until crisp tender about 5 minutes. Drain
Arrange the celery in a shallow two quart casserole or ovenproof platter. Top with the cheese slices and sprinkle with the almonds.
Broil three to four inches from heat until cheese melts and almonds are golden, 1 to 2 minutes.
