1/2 | c | Margerine with |
1 | c | Sugar |
Beat in: | ||
2 | Eggs | |
Add: | ||
1 1/2 | c | Chopped apples |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
Toss: | ||
2 1/2 | c | Flour, unsifted with |
1 | ts | Each cinnamon, salt, and |
Baking soda. | ||
Stir into mixture, making | ||
Batter | ||
Core: | ||
3 | Apples, cut into thin | |
Wedges |
Arrange some wedges on sides of a 9" round x 1.5" deep cake pan. Spoon in batter; level. Arrange remaining wedges on top. Drizzle with 2 TB melted butter. Bake at 350F for 55 minutes, or until done.
Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. If desired, glaze apple topping with 1/4 cup melted currant jelly.
