Title: Feijoa Jam Making
Categories: Australian Jam
Yield: 1 Servings
2 1/2 | lb | Feijoas thinly sliced |
2 | pt | (5 standard cups) water |
3 | lb | Sugar |
Cook fruit in water until soft, gradually add sugar stirring all the time. Bring to a boil (keep on stirring) and get it really boiling hard. Cook until a little tested on a saucer sets, it doesn't take long to do this so WATCH it! Bottle immediately otherwise you will have a jam pan of it set on you.
Feijoas also make a good jelly, take any quantity of fruit, chop up and then cover with water, cook until really soft. Strain through a jelly bag and measure the juice. Add sugar (a cup of sugar to a cup of juice) and stir until boiling, boil until it sets (it will set quickly).
enjoy,
