Title: Violet Vinegar (Veilchen-Essig)

1/2 | c | Violet petals |
1 | qt | Wine vinegar |
Place violet petals in a glass bottle, pour in the vinegar, cork the bottle, and leave it in the sun or in a warm place for two to three weeks. Strain before using.
The Time-Life editors wrote: "This vinegar is used for sauces and stews. It can also be used to make a drink by adding 1 tsp. of violet vinegar to a glass of sugared water."
