1 | md | Onion, chopped |
1 | lb | Ground beef |
2 | ts | Salt |
3/4 | ts | Garlic powder |
1/4 | ts | Pepper |
1 | ts | Oregano |
12 | oz | Tomato paste |
3 | c | Hot water |
1/2 | lb | Lasagna noodles |
1/2 | lb | Cottage cheese |
1/2 | lb | Mozzarella cheese |
Brown ground beef and chopped onion in skillet. Drain well. Blend tomato paste with hot water in large bowl. Stir in the salt, garlic powder, pepper, and the oregano. Pour this mixture over the drained beef and onion and simmer, uncovered for 30 minutes.
While the sauce simmers, cook and drain the lasagna noodles according to the directions on the box.
Place thin layer of sauce in a shallow baking dish, about 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Add half the noodles, cottage cheese; repeat with the remaining half or sauce, noodles and cheese.
Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until sauce is bubbling hot. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
