4 | lb | Baking apples |
1 | ts | Ground cinnamon |
1/4 | c | Raisins |
1/4 | c | Almond slices |
1/4 | c | Bread crumbs |
6 | Sheets phyllo | |
1 | c | Clarified butter |
Whipped cream or ice cream | ||
Powdered sugar |
Oven at 350F. Pare, core, and slice apples; place in bowl. Add cinnamon, raisins, almonds, and bread crumbs; toss lightly. Brush each sheet of phyllo with some butter; stack sheets. Add remaining butter to apple mixture; mix well. Place apple mixture lengthwise on one edge of phyllo; roll like a jelly roll.
Place, seam side down, on a baking pan; brush top with additional melted butter. Bake 30 min or until lightly browned. Cut into serving pieces. Top with whipped cream or ice cream; sprinkle with powdered sugar.
