Title: Kelkaposzta Fozelek (Savoy Cabbage & Potato Casserole)

1 | kg | Savoy Cabbage |
1/4 | kg | Potatoes |
50 | g | Lard |
60 | g | Flour |
30 | g | Onions |
1 | Clove Garlic | |
1/4 | ts | Caraway seeds |
1 | ts | Marjoram |
Salt & pepper | ||
1 | ts | Paprika |
Cut Savoy cabbage in half, remove stalks, slice thinly and wash carefully. Blanch for a couple of minutes in plenty of boiling water then drain well. Bring a little water or stock to the boil and add cabbage. season with salt and pepper and add caraway seeds and marjoram. After about 1/2 hour, add peeled, diced potatoes. Simmer together till cooked. Meanwhile fry onions and garlic in fat until well softened, add flour and cook till golden brown. Add paprika and immediately dilute with a little cold water or stock. Add mixture to cabbage and potatoes and cook all together a further 10 minutes or so.
