Title: Basic Ginger - Lime Salmon Steaks

Fresh Gingerroot, pared, 3" | ||

In a food processor fitted with a steel blade, process butter or margerine and gingerroot until smooth and creamy, scraping down side of processor often. Place salmon steaks in a baking dish ( 10"x 6"), arranging thicker portions toward outside of dish. Spread each steak with about 1 Tbsp. butter or margerine mixture. Top with lime slices. Cover with vented plastic wrap. Microwave at full power (high) for 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 minutes. or until center of fish is beginning to flake when tested with a fork. Give dish a half turn once during cooking time. Let stand covered for 2 minutes. Serve with lime wedges if desired, and additional ginger-butter mixture. Cover and refrigerate any remaining ginger-butter mixture.
