Title: Burt's Cold Cappuccino
Categories: Beverages
Yield: 1 Amount
Double of Fresh Espresso | ||
1 | tb | Sweetened Condensed Milk, |
Or to taste | ||
1/2 | c | Skim Milk - may use 1 cup |
Lots of Icecubes |
Prepare fresh double espresso. Put the condensed milk in a large glass, add the skim milk and stir vigorously -- that condensed milk is hard to dissolve. The amount of skim milk used depends on your desire. I like a BIG glass and use a cup of milk, Shirley likes a smaller glass and uses 1/2 cup of skim milk.
Add the espresso, stir, and fill glass with ice cubes. Use plenty of ice cubes, the colder the drink is the better it is.
Sometimes I mix the milks with a hand mixer. If you have a fairly fast mixer, and you raise it up from the bottom it will incorporate air in the milk and make the drink a little "thicker" and "bigger."
I have used strong coffee, but it doesn't seem as good as when I use espresso. Your milage may vary.
This is pretty much my version of the Iced Viet Coffee I had in Toscanini's Ice Cream place during during the Boston 'Clam Crawl' Cooking Echo Picnic in 1996.
