Title: Gunpowder-Mint Tea

1 | ts | Loose Gunpowder green tea or |
1 | Tea bag | |
1/8 | ts | Mint extract or |
1 | ts | Fresh or dried mint leaves |
1 | ts | Sugar (opt) |
3/4 | c | Water |
Fresh mint sprig for garnish |
Place the tea, mint extract or mint leaves, and sugar, if desired, in a teapot. Heat the water to a boil and pour it into the teapot. Let the tea steep for 3-5 min, depending on your taste. Strain or pour the tea into a cup. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
Variation: you can also mix fresh or dried mint leaves in with the Gunpowder tea before brewing; 1/2 tsp of each works best. Then omit the mint extract from the recipe.
