750 | ml | Wine, red [Burgundy type?] |
375 | ml | Wine, brandy |
2 | Cinnamon sticks | |
1 | Orange rind, finely-pared | |
2 | oz | Sugar, castor |
Carefully remove the rind from the orange with a potato peeler. Bring this to the boil, together with the cinnamon, sugar and red wine. Do not permit the liqueur actually to boil.
Pour the brandy; re-heat, allowing the tody to ignite if it will.
Serve this in modest portions as the effects are strange but good!
