Categories: Dessert
Yield: 4 Servings
2 | c | Flour |
1 | ts | Baking powder |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | ts | Cinnamon |
1/2 | ts | Nutmeg |
1 | c | Sugar (granulated) |
1/2 | c | Margerine (softened) |
3 | Eggs | |
1 | c | Applesauce (canned) |
1/4 | c | Molasses |
1 | c | Raisins |
1/2 | c | Walnuts (chopped) |
Stir together flour, salt, baking powder and spices and set aside. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar & margerine in a large bowl. Add eggs to sugar mixture one at a time, beating well after each. Add flour mixture, applesauce and molasses and beat well. Fold in raisins and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch pan and bake for about 1 hour. TEst for doneness. Turn out on rack and cool. This cake stays moist for a long time. If you wish, frost, but it is really not necessary. [end]
