Title: Banana Brunch Bars

TOPPING
2/3cSugar
1/3cAll-purpose flour
1/4tsCinnamon
1/2 Stick (1/4 c.) margarine
BATTER
1/2cSolid shortening
1cSugar
1tsLemon juice
1/2tsVanilla
2 Extra-lg eggs
1/2tsBaking soda
1/2tsSalt
1 1/2cAll-purpose flour
1/3cMilk
1cRipe banana -- mashed
  Nuts -- chopped (optional)

Combine topping ingredients and mix until crumbly, set aside.

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add lemon juice, vanilla and eggs; mix well. Stir dry ingredients together, add alternately with milk to the creamed mixture.

Add bananas (and chopped nuts, if desired) and mix well. Spread in greased (or sprayed) 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until done. Cool on wire rack, cut into squares.
