Title: Bananas in Butter Sauce

5 | tb | Butter or margarine, divided |
2 | ts | Vegetable oil, divided |
3 | Slightly under-ripe bananas, peeled, sliced 1/2" thick, divi | |
1/4 | c | Dark brown sugar |
Grated zest of 1 lemon | ||
Juice of 1 lemon [this was not in the original ingredient li | ||
2 | ts | Salt |
2 | tb | Orange-flavored liqueur |
Whipped cream | ||
6 | Amapetti cookies, coarsely crushed |
In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbs. butter and 1 tsp. oil. Add 1/2 banana slices; cook until golden on both sides, gently turning with spatula. Remove and divide among 4 serving dishes. Saute remaining banana slices with 1 Tbs. butter and remaining oil. Remove and add to dishes, reduce heat to low.
In same skillet combine remaining 3 Tbs. butter, brown sugar, lemon zest and juice and salt, stirring until brown sugar dissolves and butter is melted, about 5 minutes; stir in liqueur. Stir butter sauce over bananas. Top with whipped cream. Sprinkle with cookies...MMMM!
Work time 15 minutes...Ready to serve in 15 minutes.
