Title: Barmbrach [Tea-Cake Made By Many Pioneers]

1 | lb | Sultanas |
1 | lb | Raisins |
1 | lb | Sugar, brown, soft |
15 | oz | Tea, fluid ozs. of brewed tea. |
1 | lb | Flour, self-raising |
3 | lg | Eggs, beaten. |
1 | tb | Baking powder |
1 | tb | Mixed spice |
Put the fruit, sugar and tea in a large mixing bowl and soak overnight. Heat oven to 325^F/170^C.
Add the flour and beaten eggs alternatively to the tea mixture. Add the baking powder, spice and mix. Divide the batter equally between 3 loaf tins [lined with paper].
Bake for 1 1/2 hours. Allow to cool 5 minutes. Then turn out onto a wire rack. Serve sliced with butter.
