Title: Blackberry Slump

4cBlackberries
3/4cSugar
1cFlour
1/4cSugar; additional
1 1/2tsBaking powder
1/4tsSalt
1/2cMilk
2tbButter; melted

Wash blackberries, drain them well and put them in a deep 1-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup sugar.

In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter, stirring the batter until smooth.

Pour the batter over the blackberries. Bake in a moderately hot (375 F) oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve hot. Serves 4.
