17 | oz | Pear halves |
30 | oz | Apricot halves |
1/3 | c | Sugar, light brown; firmly packed |
1 | ts | Lemon peel; grated |
2 | tb | Lemon juice; freshly squeezd |
1 | Cinnamon stick; opt. | |
17 | oz | Plums, purple; drained |
Drain pears, reserving 1/2 cup syrup. Drain apricot syrup into large saucepan; add reserved pear syrup. Stir in sugar, lemon peel, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick. Bring mixture to a boil; simmer gently for 5 minutes. Add pears, apricots, and plums; heat through. Serve compote warm or chilled.
