1/2 | c | Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips |
2/3 | c | Butter Or Margarine |
2 | Eggs | |
1 | c | Sugar |
1 | ts | Vanilla Extract |
1 1/4 | c | Unbleached All-Purpose Flour |
3/4 | c | Rolled Oats (Oatmeal) |
1 | ts | Baking Powder |
16 | oz | (1 Jar) Maraschino Cherries; |
Drained And Chopped | ||
1/2 | c | Walnuts Or Pecans; Chopped |
CHOCOLATE GLAZE | ||
1/2 | c | Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips |
1 | tb | Butter Or Margarine |
Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F. Grease a 9 X 13-inch baking pan and set aside.
Melt 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 2/3 cup of butter over low heat, stirring to blend. Set aside to cool slightly.
Beat the eggs and sugar together until frothy. Add the vanilla and then the chocolate mixture.
In a small bowl, combine the flour, oats and baking powder, blending well. Gradually add this to the egg mixture, mixing well. Gently fold in the cherries and nuts. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 minutes. Place the pan on a wire rack to cool until cold to the touch.
In the meantime make the chocolate glaze. Melt the remaining semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter over low heat stirring until the mixture is smooth. Drizzle over the cooled brownies.
