Title: Chocolate Syrup Cake Brownies with Cocoa Frosting

1/2 | c | Butter or margarine |
1 | c | Sugar |
3 | Eggs | |
1 | c | All-purpose flour |
3/4 | c | Canned chocolate syrup |
1 | ts | Vanilla extract |
1 | c | Chopped nuts |
Nut halves | ||
COCOA FROSTING | ||
1 | tb | Butter or margarine |
3 | tb | Milk |
1 1/2 | c | Confectioners' sugar |
1 | ds | Salt |
1/4 | c | Unsweetened cocoa |
1/2 | ts | Vanilla extract |
Brownies: Preheat oven to 350xF. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Add remaining ingredients (except frosting and nuts), and mix well. Spread in buttered 9" square pan, and bake for 40 minutes. Cool in pan on cake rack. Spread with frosting. When firm, cut in 2 1/4" squares. Press a nut half in center of each.
Frosting: Heat butter and milk until butter is melted. Mix next three ingredients. Add milk, stirring to blend. Then add vanilla and beat with spoon one minute, or until smooth.
