Title: Cinnamon Orange Slices (Morocco)

4 | Small navel oranges | |
1 | c | Water |
2 | tb | Sugar |
1/2 | c | Fresh orange juice |
1/2 | ts | Ground cinnamon |

Remove orange peel from oranges and cut off the white fiber. Cut into narrow strips. (You should have a quarter cup of orange peel.) Combine orange peel, water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, slice oranges into quarter-inch-thick circles; place in serving bowl. Combine orange juice and cinnamon and drained juice from orange peel. Toss with orange slices and chill at least 30 minutes. Garnish with dates and orange peel.
