1/2 | c | Butter |
2 | Egg yolks | |
2 | oz | Chocolate, unsweetened |
1 | c | Nuts; chopped, divided |
2 | Egg whites; stiffly beaten | |
2 | c | Cookies, chocolate sandwich; crushed, divided |
8 | oz | Peppermint candy, hard;crshd |
12 | lg | Marshmallows; cut in small pieces |
1 | c | Whipping cream; whipped |
Combine sugar and butter, creaming until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, mixing well. Melt chocolate in top of double boiler. Gradually add chocolate to creamed mixture, beating constantly; stir in 1/2 cup nuts, and fold in egg whites.
Press 1 cup cookie crumbs into bottom of an 8" square baking dish; gently spread chocolate mixture over crumbs. Chill until firm.
Combine candy, marshmallows, 1/2 cup nuts, and 1/2 cup cookie crumbs; mix well. Gently stir in whipped cream. Spread whipped cream mixture over chocolate layer; sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cookie crumbs over top. Chill.
