1/2	c	Shortening
3/4	c	Maple sugar
1		Egg
3	tb	Milk
1	ts	Vanilla
1 1/4	c	Flour
1/2	ts	Soda
1 1/4	c	Cornflakes
1/2	c	Dates; chopped, or raisins

Cream shortening, sugar, and beaten egg. Add milk and vanilla, then flour and soda, mixed and sifted together. Stir in cornflakes and dates or raisins. Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheets and bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 F.
