Title: Cranberry Cheese Bars

Yield: 24 Bars
2 | c | Flour, unsifted |
1 1/2 | c | Oats |
3/4 | c | Brown sugar, firmly packed |
1 | tb | Brown sugar |
1/2 | lb | Butter or margarine 2 sticks, softened |
1 | pk | Cream cheese, 8 oz size softened |
1 | cn | Sweetened condensed milk 14 oz size |
1/4 | c | Lemon juice |
2 | tb | Cornstarch |
1 | cn | Cranberry sauce, 16 oz whole berry variety |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large mixer bowl combine flour, oats, 3/4 c brown sugar, and margarine. Mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 c of crumb mixture; press remainder firmly on bottom of greased 9 X 13" baking pan. Bake 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in small mixer bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until smooth; stir in lemon juice. Spread evenly over prepared crust. In small bowl combine remaining 1 T brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir in cranberry sauce. Spoon evenly over cheese layer. Top with reserved crumb mixture. Bake 40 minutes or until golden. Cool. Chill. Store covered in refrigerator. Makes 24-36 bars.
