1/2 | c | Sugar |
1/2 | c | Dates, cut up |
1 | c | Margarine |
4 | c | Flour |
1/2 | ts | Cinnamon |
1/2 | c | Crushed nutmeats |
1/2 | c | Water |
2 | c | Brown sugar |
3 | Eggs | |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
Cook sugar, nuts, dates and water and cool. Cream margarine, brown sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a rectangle and spread one half of date mixture on each rectangle. Roll into 2 logs, forming evenly. Wrap each in wax paper and place in the refrigerator overnight for easier slicing.
Slice. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until done.
