Title: Festive Gingerbread Cookies

Yield: 2 Dozen

3 1/4 | c | Flour; sifted |
3 | ts | Baking powder |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1 | ts | Ginger |
2/3 | c | Molasses |
1/3 | c | Brown sugar; firmly packed |
1 | Egg; well beaten | |
1/3 | c | Butter; or margarine, melted |
Combine and sift flour, baking powder, salt, and ginger. Combine molasses, sugar, egg, and butter. Add sifted dry ingredients gradually; mix well. Chill for several hours. Roll and cut with floured cookie cutters or press into lightly greased and floured wooden molds. Place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375~ for 10-12 mins. Cool. Cookies may be dusted with confectioners sugar or frosted.
