Title: Kahlua Apple Pie (Low-fat)

6 | Apples, peeled+sliced | |
1/4 | c | Kahlua liqueur |
1/4 | c | Brown sugar |
1/4 | c | All-purpose flour |
1 | tb | Butter |
Melted butter+sugar | ||
CRUST FOR 1 9-INCH PIE | ||
2 | c | All-purpose flour |
1/4 | c | Water |
1/4 | c | Granulated sugar |
1 | ds | Salt |
2/3 | c | Shortening |
2 | tb | Melted butter |
1/4 | c | Brown sugar |
1/2 | c | Chopped pecans |
Combine the apples, Kahlua, brown sugar and flour. Turn into pie shell. Dot with butter. Add the top crust and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower heat to 350 degrees and continue to bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden and tender. Cool slightly. Serve warm for the best flavor.
Crust for 1 9-inch pie:
Measure 1/3 cup flour and blend into a paste with 1/4 cup water. Combine remaining flour,sugar,and salt. Cut in the shortening. Turn in the flour paste and form into a dough. Roll out the bottom crust. Spread with melted butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar and pecans. Roll out remaining crust. Cut into strips. Arrange lattice over filling. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
