Title: Upside Down Pickles

1 | ga | Jar of sour pickles |
5 | lb | Sugar |
1 | (1-1/4 ounce) box pickling | |
Spice | ||
3 | Garlic cloves | |
3 | tb | Oil |
Empty pickles out of jar and pour off juice. Slice crosswise. Fill the gallon jar with pickles, sugar, spices, and garlic in layers; repeating layers to top. On top put 3 Tbsp. of oil. Seal tightly (it will all fit in if you are determined.) Turn upside down for 3 days, then right side up for 3 days, then upside down for 3 more days. Pickles should sit for 3 weeks before serving. Refrigerate after opening. May pack in smaller sterilized jars if desired.
