Title: Jelly Jewels

Yield: 3 Dozen

1/2cButter
2/3cSugar
1/4tsSalt
1tsVanilla
2 Egg yolks
1tbCream
1/2cSifted all purpose flour
1 Egg white for topping
1/4cChopped nuts
2tbSugar
  Cherry jelly or your choice of jelly

Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Blend in salt, vanilla, egg yolks, cream and flour. Chill.

Roll 1/8 inch thick on floured canvas; cut with two inch scalloped cutter. Cut a small hole in center of HALF the cookies; sprinkle the *hole* cookies with combined nuts and sugar.

Place both sets of cookies on greased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 8 to 10 minutes.

Spread bottom of whole cookies with jelly placing a little more jelly toward center. Cover with the sugar topped *hole* tops.
