Title: Lemon Crumb Squares

1 c | n Sweetened condensed milk | |
1 | /2 c | Lemon juice |
1 t | s Lemon rind -- grated | |
1 1 | /2 c | Flour -- sifted |
1 c | Uncooked oatmeal | |
1 t | s Baking powder | |
1 | /2 t | s Salt |
2 | /3 c | Butter |
1 c | Dark brown sugar -- packed |
Blend together milk, juice, and rind of lemon. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream shortening, blend in sugar. Add oatmeal and flour mixture until crumbly. Spread half the mixture in an 8x12x2" buttered baking pan and pat down. Spread condensed milk mixture over top and cover with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350~F about 25 min or until brown around the edges. Cool in pan at room temperature for 15 minutes. Cut into squares and chill in pan until firm.
