Title: Lemon Date Bars

Yield: 30 Bars
1 | pk | Spice cake mix |
1/4 | c | Water |
2 | lg | Eggs |
1/4 | c | Butter, softened |
1/4 | c | Brown sugar |
1 1/2 | c | Chopped dates |
1/2 | c | Chopped walnuts or pecans |
LEMON GLAZE | ||
1 | c | Confectioners sugar |
1/2 | ts | Grated lemon peel |
1 | ts | Lemon juice |
2 | tb | Milk |
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine half the cake mix (dry mix), and all of the water, eggs, butter and brown sugar in mixing bowl. Mix throughly. Blend in the remaining cake mix. Stir in dates and nuts.
Spread in greased and floured jelly roll pan 15 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
While warm, spread with Lemon Glaze.
Cut into 3 x 1 1/2 inch bars.
Lemon Glaze.
Mix all ingredients until smooth.
