Title: Mango-Lime Sorbet

5 | Ripe mangoes | |
1 | c | Sugar |
1/2 | ts | Grated lime zest |
4 | tb | Freshly squeezed lime juice |
(about 3 limes) |
Slice off tops and bottoms of mangoes. Use a vegetable peeler or sharp knife to remove the skin. Cut the flesh away from the large flat seed and place the flesh in a blender or food processor. Process until pureed. Pour the puree into a large metal bowl and whisk in the sugar, zest andlime juice. Let sit for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves. Refrigerate for 1 hour, then freeze in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Per serving: 177 calories, 0.7 g protein, 47 g carbohydrate, 0.4 g fat, 2 percent calories as fat, 3 g fiber, no cholesterol, 3 mg sodium
