Title: Maryland Country Apple Pie

Pastry for two crust pie | ||
FILLING | ||
1/2 | c | Heavy cream |
2 | tb | Tapioca |
1 | c | Sugar |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | ts | Nutmeg |
1/4 | ts | Ground cinnamon |
1 | ts | Lemon juice |
5 | c | Peeled, sliced, apples |
2 | tb | Butter |
Prepare your favorite pastry. (Does not specify regular or deep dish pie pan)
Combine cream, tapioca, sugar, salt, the spices and lemon juice in a bowl. Add thinly sliced apples and toss with cream mixture. Mix well.
Spoon half of apple mixture into pastry lined 9 inch pie pan. Fill around edges with the apples and pack well. Dat with the butter. Add the remaining apples.
Place on the top crust and flute edges. Cut vents. Brush top lightly with milk.
Bake in preheated 400 oven for 50 to 60 minutes OR until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
