Title: Rolled Oat Cookies

Yield: 3 Dozen
1 | c | Butter; or margarine |
1 | c | Brown sugar; packed |
1/4 | c | -Water |
1 | ts | Vanilla extract |
3 | c | Quick cooking oats |
1 1/4 | c | Flour |
1 | ts | Salt |
1/4 | ts | Baking soda |
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add water and vanilla; mix well. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Chill for 30 mins. Shape into two 1.1/2" rolls; wrap tightly in waxed paper. Chill for 2 hrs. or until firm. Cut into 1/2" slices and place 2" apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375~ for 12 mins. or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield - 3.1/2 dozen
