240 | g | Sugar [8oz]. |

240 | g | Arrowroot [8oz]. |
Cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly. Add the arrowroot and mix in well. Grease a square cake tin. Spoon in the mixture and bake in a slow oven for 45 minutes.
"This cake was usually made and served by grandmothers at afternoon tea, after a spirited game of bridge. The best the babyboomer grandchildren could hope for on such a day was a slice of cake - a reward for "being good".
