Title: Scottish Oat Cookies

1/4 | c | Brown sugar |
1/4 | c | Sugar |
7/8 | c | Butter |
2 | tb | Corn syrup |
5/8 | c | Flour |
1 | ts | Baking powder |
1 1/3 | c | Rolled oats |
1 | Egg |
Heat oven to 350.
1. Beat the butter with the sugars until light and fluffy. Add the egg and syrup, and mix well. 2. Sift in the flour and baking powder, and add the oats. Stir until well mixed together. 3. Put heaped teaspoons of the mixture onto a greased cookie sheet, and flatten slightly. 4. Bake for 12 minutes, then lift onto a cake rack. The cookies will be slightly soft, but they'll become firm and chewy when they cook down.
