1 | Cup golden crisco shortening | |
2 1/4 | c | Lighlty packed brown sugar |
3 | Eggs | |
1/3 | Cup molasses | |
4 | Cups flour | |
1 1/2 | Tsp baking powder | |
1 1/2 | Tsp baking soda | |
2 | Tsp cinnamon | |
1 | Tsp cloves | |
3/4 | Tsp nutmeg | |
1 | Cup chopped, dried apricots | |
1 | Cup raisins | |
1 | Cup chopped pecans |
Preheat oven to 375F. Cream shortening and brown sugar in large bowl on medium speed of electric mixer. Add eggs and molasses, beating until light and smooth. combine flour, baking powder, baking soada and spices. Stir into creamed mixture thoroughly. Add fruit and nuts. Shape dough on greased and floured baking sheet into 6 logs (14x1-1/2 inches). Place 2 logs per sheet. Bake at 375F for 10-14 minutes, or until golden. Dough will be soft; it firms up on cooling. Cool and slice diagonally.
