Title: Winter Kitchen Cake

2cnPitted cherries in syrup (16
 ozEach) or
1 28 oz can fruit cocktail,
  Sliced peaches, etc
2tbMelted butter
1 1/2cAll purpose flour
2cPacked brown sugar, divided
1tsBaking soda
1/2tsBaking powder
1/2tsSalt
1 Egg
1/2cChopped walnuts
1 1/2cBoiling water

Pour cherries into 9x13 inch pan; add butter. Add in flour, 1/2 cu brown sugar, soda, baking powder and salt. Add egg beat with fork until will blended, about 2 minutes. Spread batter evenly in pan. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups browned sugar and walnuts; pour boiling water over entire mixture. Bake in 350 oven for 40 minutes. Serve arm with cream, whipped cream or ice cream.
