Be certain to stir each layer to a full trace - when the trailings just start to remain on the surface of the soap. Add the chlorophyll to the first layer immediately after adding the lye solution to the fats and oils. Before beginning the first layer, combine the annatto seeds for the third layer with 1/2 c of olive oil and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir to release some color, cover, and stir periodically during the soapmaking process. To compensate for the annatto oil, weigh the required amount of olive oil for the third layer; then remove the 1/2 c and return to the bottle. Stir the annatto oil one final time, strain, and add to the olive oil.

Note: 1 1/3 tb of spirulina can be used in place of the powdered natural chlorophyll.

To make Gift of the Seas bars, use 2/3 ts of ultramarine blue to color the first layer, white for the second, and the annatto for the third - top - layer.
