INGREDIENTS | ||
201 | g | Sodium hydroxide |
1 | lb | 3 oz distilled water |
1 | lb | 5 oz olive oil |
1 | lb | Coconut oil |
14 | oz | Palm oil |
4 | oz | Pine tar |
7 | ts | Pure essential oil or fragrance oil, optional |
Though pine tar can be added at trace if the soapmaker works quickly to ensure no lumps, it is recommended to add the pine tar to the melted fats and oils immediately before adding the lye solution. The pine tar speeds up saponification, so be ready to add essential oils an pour within 2 to 5 mintues.
