Title: Cobblestone Soap
Categories: Soap *
Yield: 1 Batch

TEXT ONLY

Cobblestone soap is a beautiful way to recycle soap trimmings, scraps, and extra bars. It uses both finely shredded soap and irregular chunks of soap.

1. Prepare and proceed to make your choice of soap formula as your base soap. A white base makes a most striking contrast.

2. At the trace, incorporate 2 cups of long soap shreds or cut chunks of bar soap for every 5 pounds of soap. Though lighter shreds can be added at a light or a full trace, heavier chunks of soap will sink to the bottom of thinly traced soap; they require a full trace for better suspension.

3. Complete the selected formula according to individual directions.

Tips for making Cobblestone Soap:

*Use multicolored soap shreds and pieces for a more striking appearance.

*When using larger soap chunks, be sure to use soap that is not too hard; older soap is difficult to slice into chunks, and also more difficult to slice through when you are cutting and trimming the final bars.

*Cut the colorful soap into different shaped chunks for an interesting effect.

*Add larger soap pieces once your base soap has reached a full trace. Thinly traced soap will not hold them in suspension.

*If scent is desired, add just before the soap pieces. If the pieces are scented, consider letting these alone scent the entire new batch lightly.
