Title: Arrowroot Cleansing Jelly
Categories: Cleanser *
Yield: 4 Ounces
2 | tb | Arrowroot powder (you may also use cornstarch) |
2 | tb | Glycerine |
1/2 | c | Water |
Arrowroot powder conditions the skin and allows it to retain more moisture. This recipe makes a clear jelly that could also be used to moisturize the skin. The key to this recipe is to not boil the mixture or it will solidify after cooling and not spread as well into the skin.
Mix all ingredients and stir until smooth. Heat in a double boiler or in a small pan placed in a water bath inside another pan. Heat until thick and clear. It will have the consistency of pudding. Do not boil.
Let cool completely. If your cleansing jelly is too thick (a spoon will stand up in it) you may thin it by adding a little water, one tablespoon at a time, until you are happy with the consistency.
Use in place of soap to clean your skin.
